This seaweed is stiff to the touch and each stipe is made up of small cylindrical beads. It is an unbranched seaweed which usually grows in clumps or tufts. It is bright green and can be slightly shiny blue when underwater.
Found in tide pools on semi exposed shores. Usually a little higher up than the Sea Emerald (Chaetomorpha coliformis)
