Fish of the Pomatoschistus genus of the Gobiinae (true gobies) subfamily of the Gobiidae family of the Gobiiformes order of the Percomorpha clade of the Acanthopterygii superorder.

Norway goby (Pomatoschistus norvegicus) was first described in 1902 by the Norwegian zoologist Robert Collett (1842-1913).
It inhabits a depth of 10-20 meters. It occurs near a muddy bottom. The maximum recorded length is 8 cm. It feeds on zooplankton.
It is a rare inhabitant of the Adriatic. Registered single encounters in the northern part of the sea.
