Comments:

Strictly speaking a soft-water species from the savannahs and forests of far-west Africa, Anomalochromis thomasi is not fussy about water conditions.

Looking somewhat like a compact Jewel Cichlid and sometimes having to bear the common name "Dwarf Jewel", it has none of the pugnacious attributes associated with most of those fishes.

It is easily bred and can be kept with community fishes.
