The Longhorn Fairy Shrimp lives in pools in the Great Central Valley of California. Adults can reach up to the length of two centimeters. The female will lay her eggs and after twenty-three to forty-three days the shrimp have reach their full growth. Threats to this species include extinction because if any of the small populations are threatened, it could wipe it out. Conservation measures underway include having almost all of the vernal pools it lives in are protected by law.
