An excellent beginner broad-leaved plant, Hygrophila Compacta (sometimes called 'Dwarf Nomaphila Siamensis') is perfect for your aquarium midground. Bettas just love it!

These won't need anything special in terms of lighting, filtration, or temperatures, and pretty much do just fine no matter what. They are similar to, but tougher than Cardinal plants and Temple plant

Hygro Compacta does need a bit of trimming to keep it bushy. Just replant the trimmings for more! While they only need medium intensity lighting, under higher lights, Hygro will reward you with beautiful orange and reddish tinted-leaves.

Their broad tolerance for aquarium conditions makes them an absolute favorite for aquarists across skill levels. They can grow immersed or submerged!

One order is for one 3+" tall plant; branched/ rooted plant varies in it's natural state.

Growing requirements:

  • 65-80 Degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ph 6-8
  • Medium to high light intensity.
  • Medium- quick growth speed

As I like to keep real ecosystems in my aquariums, there's always the possibility of harmless snail or dwarf shrimp hitchhikers!

Okay

Marketed as an easy plant, but I didn’t have an easy time with it. I have a medium light but it didn’t grow great under mind and kind of melted away. Only get if you have a high light and medium to soft water. I have hard water and I think that is why it didn’t do so well.
