Bucephalandra sp. is a genus of aquatic plants endemic to Borneo Island, representing the Araceae family. Bucephalandra sp. is famous for its ornamental aquatic plants which are usually used in aquascaping. These aquatic plants come at fantastic prices, e.g. ±300 euros in European ornamental aquatic markets and Rp 50,000 – 700,000 in Indonesian aquatic plant markets. We collected 195 types of Bucephalandra from an ornamental aquatic plant market in Jakarta. In the market, they are sold under its commercial name. Therefore, the aim of this study is to collect and identify the species of all Bucephalandra types in the aquatic plant commercial market. We examined factors affecting the growth and survival of postmetamorphic Bufo marinus using sampling and experiments. Bufo metamorphs, defined as newly emerged terrestrial toads of 9-29mm snout-ischium length (SIL), were classified into four stages on the basis of colour and size. Stage 1 were uniformly black and about 9-12 mm SIL, stage 2 were mottled with orange spots and about 12-16mm SL, stage 3 had a white mid-dorsal line and were about 16-25mm SIL, and stage 4 had enlarged parotoid glands and were about 25-29 mm SIL. We determined the density of each stage at three distances (0-1, 2-3, 4-5m) from their larval habitat using 1 x 1-m quadrat samples. The mean densities of all metamorphs within 1 m of water were 2.6m-2 and 2.1m-2 for the wet and early dry seasons, respectively. Algunas especies arbóreas tropicales forman anillos de crecimiento marcados por fibras, bandas de parénquima marginal o terminal, o por el calibre de vasos de madera temprana. Características que se utilizan para interpretar ritmos y tasas de crecimiento, así como edades. En el presente trabajo se hace una evaluación de las propiedades anatómicas de la madera de Bursera lancifolia con valor dendrocronológico. Se usaron 10 núcleos extraídos de tres árboles para caracterizar los tipos celulares que marcan el anillo y para realizar su estudio anatómico. Los núcleos se fecharon en mayo del año 2010, con una correlación de 0.339, mediante el programa COFECHA, y una serie cronológica de 69 años, con una sensibilidad promedio de 0.410; dicha cronología se correlacionó con los datos meteorológicos de precipitación de la zona.
