This plant is one of the smallest forms of any Anubias. It is a cultivar of Anubias barteri var. nana (AKA Anubias nana).

“Pangolino” is a trade name, not a scientifically accepted name.

According to most sources, this cultivar originates from a mutation which was found amidst some stock of Anubias barteri var. nana “Bonsai,” at the Dennerle nursery in Germany. The cultivar name, Pangolino, was allegedly given because the breeder thought the foliage resembled the overlapping scales of a Pangolin.

Pangolino thrives quite well under the same conditions as other Anubias: Wet, humid, under dim light.

It is extremely slow growing.
