There are many varieties of Hygrophila polysperma. This one from Sri
Lanka, with graceful waved leaf edges, has smaller leaves than the standard
H. polysperma. In strong light the leaves turn copper coloured. The plant
readily forms side shoots, so just a few plants will soon develop into an
