Baked tilapia is a weeknight dinner dream. The fish, which has a very mild taste, is a great way to get eaters who aren't big fans of fish and seafood to love it. It cooks quickly, takes on flavors well, and come out of the oven super tender. This recipe is so simple, we guarantee you'll be in and out of the kitchen in under 30 minutes!
We cooked ours in plenty of butter, lemon, and garlic to make it bright and fresh and easy to love. Baking it requires very little effort with zero risk of the fish sticking to your skillet or grill: a total win-win! The internal temperature of fish should reach 145°F for food safety, according to USDA guidelines. If you don't have an instant-read thermometer, check to see that your fish has turned opaque and that it's easily flaked with a fork.
For serving, pair with your choice of summery-fresh salads, coconut rice, or super buttery garlic bread.
