Hygrophila polysperma from South-East Asia is also known as' dwarf hygro'. It is one of the hardiest aquarium plants available. Hygrophila is generally placed in the background or midground where it will add an interesting geometry to the aquascape and must be trimmed regularly. It is  of limited contrast value, making it excellent 'filler' plant. It does not require and special conditions.
