10 picturesque photographs that capture the beauty of winter

Even if sometimes we’d rather observe the winter weather from the comfort of our homes, especially on a particularly snowy, cold or blustery day, there’s no denying the beauty of the winter season. If, like us, you’ve already taken plenty of snaps of snowy gardens, frosted flowers or icy scenes this year, you’ll know that it’s a season that simply must be photographed. And each winter, photo printing company CEWE shares some of the most picturesque snowy scenes as part of the CEWE Photo Award 2023 competition.

Open to everyone, from amateur photographers to established professionals in the field, the competition celebrates the very best in photography. And this year, 10 snaps from all across the globe have been chosen as the very best at highlighting this winter's stunning landscapes.

'It's one of the most picturesque times of the year, so a perfect opportunity to capture stunning photographs. From snowy landscapes and frost gathered on flowers in your local park, to the icicles hanging on your windows – the delicate details are simply beautiful,' say the team at CEWE.

If you fancy getting involved, you have until the end of May 2023 to submit your own photos for CEWE's competition, with the theme, 'Our World is Beautiful'. With 10 categories for budding photographers to enter, from animals and landscapes to aerial shots and travel images, there will be 1,000 eventual winners. And, with prizes totalling more than €250,000 and three monthly winners each receiving a voucher for CEWE photo products worth €100, what are you waiting for?
