Thank you to Jeff Benjamin for this idea and Dave Stangle for making me do it. When Jeff first presented his vision for this I tried to get out of it. Jeff and Dave insisted and I'm so glad they did. We know the commercial airlines provide this service because so many people need it and it's the best option available. But this was an eye-opening experience for me and motivated me to bring a solution -- a better way -- to life. We know our starting prices with BARK Air aren't affordable for everyone. We want to make BARK Air accessible, affordable, and available to everyone who ever wants to travel with their dog with an experience designed for the dogs first. It will take time for us to build routes, lower our operational costs, and get there, but that's the path we're on. This is important for making ALL dogs happy, and we know they're happiest when they're with their people.

Today, we are proud to introduce BARK Air, the world's first air travel experience designed to put dogs first. The demand from dog people to bring their dogs with them long distances is greatly outweighed by the viable solutions available today. So we built one ourselves. We believe in dog and human togetherness, and that it should not be limited by a lack of truly dog-friendly transportation. Dogs deserve better travel options than being shoved in a duffle bag or worse, put in a crate with the rest of the cargo. Luckily, you don't have to imagine what it's like for a dog to travel like cargo, because we forced our CEO, Matt Meeker, to do it for a 3 hour flight while we spoiled all the dogs traveling above in first class.
