BLUE CORAL

Common on reefs with good circulation.  Forms large hemispheres with vertical undulating folds or digitate branches, cream, gray, or blue-gray with some degree of brown zooxanthellate cast, white polyps with eight tentacles.  The skeletal core is blue gray.  Possibly a species complex.  East Africa to Japan and Samoa.
