Add three cups of water to moong dal and pressure cook along with cut snake gourd, on medium flame for two whistles.

Blend the grated coconut with cumin seeds, along with a little bit of water in a mixer and set aside.

In a deep pan, heat some sesame oil, add mustard seeds and once they pop, add red chilli and hing and sauté for two minutes.
