Streptocephalus sp.
Orange and transparent swimming organism. Looks like lots of feet on the underside. Measuring 2 to 4 cms. Looks like their eyes float on the outsides of their heads. They flip over and all those feet on the underside flutter!
Sonoran Desert. Rainwater pond.
Have had a couple of good rains so there is a huge puddle where we go catch tadpoles. Got these two guys in the bucket. Orange and transparent coloring. Just would love to know what they transform into.
That very well may be the species, but pictures for those came up with my suggested Redtailed Fairy Shrimp. It's probably just a bunch of confused people. I can only find that Beavertail Fairy Shrimp's family name is Thamnocephalus. There seems to be no info on them besides how to keep them as pets.
Thankyou LuckyLogan! Wow, strange critters. Checked out these, look more like the Beavertail fairy shrimp. Would love more input!
Very interesting!! I also would like to know what they turn into, they kind of look shrimp like?! Hope you get an ID, EvelynWilson.
