Potamotrygon leopoldi (Castex & Castello, 1970)

Common name: Polka-dot stingray, eclipse stingray

Range: Rio Xingu drainage, Brazil

Adult size: 250-400 mm DL

Description: Base color on the dorsal surface of the disc is black to very dark brownish gray. White spots can be round, lunate, or circular in shape. Underbelly often splotchy light gray. Several rows of spines on dorsal surface of the tail.
