Jumping guard
A jumping guard prevents (nocturnal) fish from jumping out.
Wrasses, blennies, hawkfishs and gobies jump out of an unprotected tank in fright if their night rest is disturbed, unfortunately these jumpers are found dried up in the morning on carpets, glass edges or later behind the tank.

Ich musste dieses Tier aus meinem Aquarium leider wieder verbannen. Zu anderen Salarias kann ich nichts sagen aber diese Art ist definitiv KEIN ALGENFRESSER!! Bei mir hat sie erwiesenermaßen mit Erfolg Jagd auf Garnelen und Einsiedlerkrebse gemacht... Nicht für die Gesellschaft mit solchen Krustentieren geeignet. Ich habe sie auch in der Natur bei der Jagd auf Felsengarnelen beobachtet... Meiner Meinung nach sollte der allgemeine Kommentar über die Vorliebe für Algen nicht in der Beschreibung für diese Art stehen...

Ich hatte drei Salaria pavo in meinem "Adria-Aquarium".
Übergriffe untereinander konnte ich nicht beobachten.
Es sind sehr aktive Schwimmer, aber sie verbrachten auch viel Zeit in den Höhlen zwischen dem Gestein.
Man konnte sie auch oft für längere Zeit an der Luft in der Aquariumecke beobachten, wie auf meinem Bild zu erkennen ist.

Hallo, ich habe jetzt seit etwa 3 Wochen einen 7cm großen Salaria pavo. Er hat sich von Anfang an super mit meinen 2 Clownfischen (A. ocellaris) und einer Demoiselle(Chrysiptera parasema) vertragen. Einzige Streitereien gibt es mit den Felsengarnelen (Palaemon elegans). Aber nichts Ernstes. Es sind eben beides ziemlich sture Tiere, die sich nicht gerne was sagen lassen ;)
Der Salaria ging die ersten tage nicht an Ersatznahrung und hat sich immer sehr versteckt gehalten. Man hat ihn nur immer wieder von einem Loch ins andere springen gesehen. Nach ner Knappen Woche hatte er aber schon jede scheue verloren und aß ohne zögern sowohl Frost, als auch Trockenfutter. Es ist eindeutig ein Fleischfresser und mag am liebsten Mysis, Artemia und Muschelfleisch. Hab ihn auch schon beim fressen einer gestorbenen, kleinen Napfschnecke gesehen. Wichtig ist noch, dass das Becken ZWINGEND nicht unter 500L groß sein sollte. Der Fisch ist extrem aktiv und schwimmt auch sehr viel im freien Wasser rum. Es ist wirklich ein schöner, problemloser Fisch (bis jetzt). Nur ob er auf längere zeit mit den Temperaturen klar kommt, weiß ich nicht (bei mir 24°C). Da er aber oft in Gezeitentümpeln zu finden ist, (die weitaus wärmer werden können) kann ich mir aber vorstellen, dass er das sehr gut verkraften kann.
