Astraeosmilia curvata (Wijsman-Best, 1972)

Description: Colonies are usually small. Corallites are sometimes compact, but usually sprawl irregularly. They are characteristically curved at the colony periphery and average 8 millimetres diameter.

Habitat: Flat substrates, often found with Caulastraea furcata.

Abundance:
Similar Species: Caulastrea furcata, which can be distinguished underwater by its colour; corallites are also more regular, larger, have more numerous septa and better developed costae.

Wohl die schnellwüchsigste LPS überhaupt; ein jeder Polyp (der seitlich genug Platz hat) teilt sich alle 4 Wochen....
Verträgt viel Licht, wächst aber auch noch im Schatten, für starke Farben ist aber kräftige Beleuchtung vorzuziehen....
Regenerationsfähigkeit ist enorm, selbst wenn kleine Stücke eines Polypen abgebrochen sind, werden diese innerhalb kurzer Zeit neu gebildet...
