Meet Snotlout, a 3-year-old Jagdterrier who weighs 20lbs. A Jagdterrier is a rare breed of German Hunting terrier. They are very intense little dogs who were bred to hunt wild boar, raccoons, and badgers. They are extremely intelligent, independent, high energy and high prey drive.
Snotlout is such a lover. Jagdterriers are not usually the most cuddly dogs but Snotlout is all about the snuggles. He loves to sit in laps and get all the pets and kisses. He is great with other dogs, but not into playing.
Please read below, carefully.
Snotlout is definitely less independent and intense than his sister Gothi, but he is still a working line terrier, so high drive terrier experience is a must. He will need at least 1.5-2 hours of exercise a day plus lots of mental stimulation. It is important to remember that dogs like Snotlout will not be happy with simple walks or going to the dog park. High drive terriers need mental stimulation and breed specific activities. Snotlout would be amazing at barn hunt, agility, terrier trials, and more. He would also be happy with lots of long walks, brain games and puzzles, and regularly being taken somewhere he can dig for gophers.
Snotlout is looking for an active home without cats or small rodents. Please do your research on the breed before applying. High drive terrier experience is required. If the idea of having a dog that may never be fully trustworthy off leash is off putting, high prey drive terriers are not the dog for you. But if you are a terrier person looking for a super smart dog with an amazing foundation, Snotlout is the dog for you! (LH)
Snotlout is shown with his sister, Gothi. They can, potentially, be adopted together.
