Green Chromis Damsel
Chromis viridis
Chromis viridis (Cuvier 1830), the Blue-Green Chromis. The darling damsel of reefkeepers. To three inches maximum length. Formerly (and often still) identified as Chromis cyanea. This fish is often called a ‘Dither’ fish as it encourages other shy fish out into the water column. Best kept in uneven numbers, these fish like to school with their own kind and will readily accept any other peaceful tankmates that wish to join them. These fish are more peaceful than most other damsels and will not likely wreak the same kind of havoc many other damsels will. Green chromis are known to spawn in systems.
