Things got extremely real and candid on Instagram Live this week when Cheetah Girls alums Raven-Symoné and Kiely Williams sat down for a talk and ended up trying to heal some old wounds within their former Disney Channel girl group.
It hasn't always been the smoothest sailing among the cast of the Cheetah Girls films. Drama has followed group members Raven, Kiely, Adrienne Bailon, and Sabrina Bryan for years, with rumors of discord between the women coming to the forefront every so often. Recently, that drama has come up yet again.
As reported by Seventeen, Kiely went public in early April with a refusal to ever appear on Adrienne's talk show, The Real, because of the past bad blood they share. Raven seemed to acknowledge this renewed feud between Kiely and Adrienne when, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she hinted that a Cheetah Girls reunion has the potential to go "sideways" and that a conversation between all four members would need to happen first. Over the past couple of weeks, fans have also noticed that Raven and Kiely had been talking about each other during Instagram Live sessions with other people.
On April 9, however, Raven and Kiely hashed things out in a joint Instagram Live session, where Raven began trying to heal not just her somewhat rocky relationship with Kiely but also Kiely's relationship with Adrienne (who, for the record, was not on the IG Live chat to speak her piece). Not only were Kiely and Adrienne in the Cheetah Girls movies together, but they also made music before the Disney Channel movies in a girl group called 3LW.
After Raven and Kiely apologized to one another for any and all past wrongs during the IG Live, Raven turned the tables, telling Kiely, "You know what's next on the list. You've got to talk to Adrienne, dude," which made Kiely ask why. Raven responded, "'Cause you're the firecracker!"
This is where things get real. Kiely then told Raven, "No, she didn't come to my dad's funeral or call me when he died. No. I'm sorry and I'm not trying to be messy but I'm being for real with you. No. No. I'm sorry, I love you. I swear to God. Nope," and goes on to say, "You can say what you want about me and how you felt about me, but you can't ever say that I didn't f*cking ride for Adrienne. You can't say that. So, like, no man. I didn't do anything."
"You didn't do anything and that's a horrible thing that happened if she did not show up to your dad's funeral with such a history," Raven replied. "But stuff happens. My best friend didn't invite me to her wedding. And she met her husband through me. But I still talk to her because the history that we have for one another is so thick that she knows a part of you that nobody else knows," and then ended the topic of conversation with, "But y'all prideful *sses need to calm down, take a pill for a second, and say, 'I'm pissed at you but let's talk about it.'"
Raven and Kiely's 20-minute IG Live also featured a throwback mention of Cheetah Girls 3, where Kiely admits Cheetah Girls 3 failed because Raven wasn't in it. Basically, this conversation has everything a Cheetah Girls fan would need.
So, will the healing between the Cheetah Girls begin now, for real? Only time will tell. In the meantime, you can watch a recording of the full IG Live conversation below:
