Two years after Harry Brant's death, Stephanie Seymour is opening up about how she's coping with the loss of her youngest son, who died of an accidental overdose at age 24 in 2021.

“If I think that Harry would love something, I do it, and it does help me with my grief,” the supermodel and mother of four spoke said in an interview with WSJ. Magazine. One of the ways she's done this is by keeping all of his favorite pieces of clothing and periodically mixing them into her own wardrobe. Seymour recalled that her late son always loved fashion and started styling his own outfits in elementary school.

In one portrait, the model wears Brant's beloved Saint Laurent suit designed by Hedi Slimane, holding the blazer over her chest to reveal her bare back upon which the name “Harry” has been painted in cursive with a red heart. She told the magazine, “It's a suit that I keep hanging in my dressing room, which is this big room where I keep all my stuff. I do my makeup there. I live in that room. I looked at that suit one night and I said, 'I'm going to put it on.' It fit me.” She continued, “It still feels so good to put his clothes on,” adding that she wants to continue to document Brant's wardrobe like this because “he would love it.” Plus, there's a “whole flock of women that would love to wear his clothes and be photographed.”

Something else that has helped Seymour and her husband Peter Brant heal is to attempt to live in the moment every day, especially for their grandchildren's sake. “I try to just be present. For me with holidays, and I'm sure a lot of other people can relate, it's difficult now because I'm always thinking of what's missing,” she said. “There's nothing that's helped me get through all of this more than my grandchildren,” and her role as “Grandma Stephanie.” She also announced that there's recently been a new addition to their family, her eldest son Dylan Brant welcome a baby boy in October named after his late brother.

Fellow supermodel and godmother to all four of Seymour's children, Naomi Campbell, also spoke to the publication about losing Harry and what he meant to her. “I remember when he was 12, I'd take him to meetings and grown adults could not believe his mind and maturity,” she recalled. “Steven Meisel loved him. Pat [McGrath] loved him. Everyone could see how special he was.”

In January 2021, following Harry's passing, Seymour and her husband released a statement announcing that their son had “lost his battle with addiction and died due to an accidental overdose of prescription medication.” They continued, “Our hearts are shattered. Harry wanted to overcome his addiction and was just days away from re-entering rehab. Harry was not just our son, he was also a wonderful brother, loving grandson, favorite uncle, and a caring friend. He was a creative, loving and powerful soul that brought light into so many people's hearts. He was truly a beautiful person inside and out.”
