3.0 out of 5 stars ANTOnline doesn't provide mouse
Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2009

I ordered from ANTOnline and they didn't provide the mouse. After informing them, they said that they only promised the keyboard; and that this was a problem with Amazon. After repeated efforts, I ended up with no mouse. They were not helpful.

Keyboard is fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Combo on a budget

KEYBOARD:

Most of my computer peripherals have been Logitech. Simply put: they just make good, ergonomic stuff (though sometimes at a premium). If you need a mouse and keyboard that's inexpensive this is probably the set you've been looking for. The keyboard is *QUIET*, has a low profile, is light but doesn't slide (has good rubber feet), nice quick-launch buttons (the calculator is particularly useful for Windows 7). The 3 standard LEDs are green. Good layout of the quick-launch keys: on the left side: music player, email, home/internet, calculator (respectively) and on the right hand side: pause/play, volume down, volume up, mute. The left and right sides of the keyboard are glossy black (which can leave fingerprints), but matches nicely with the current generation of LCD monitors which tend to have a glossy black finish. Also, the wire length for both items seems to be more than adequate (I didn't measure, but it's 6ft or so).

I did find the keyboard to be better fit for smaller/slimmer hands however, as the keys may feel a bit smaller but that's just nitpicking. I think that might explain the cheaper price (as less materials are used in the production). The keys themselves have plenty of room in between, so you'll probably need to invest in a can of compressed air to get dirt out from in-between the keys (but that's a long-term issue that I think every keyboard experiences eventually). As mentioned before, the keys are quiet, have good feedback, and are at the sweet-spot for recoil/press-strength necessary for typing without tiring. The spacebar is very comfortable.

MOUSE:

The mouse is very basic: 2 standard buttons, a tilt wheel, red optical light, and appears to be ambidextrous (for both left and right-hand users). It's tail end has most of the mass, so it may take a day or two getting used to it if your previous mouse had a more evenly distributed weight (again, this is highly specific, and probably does not matter to the average user).

*OVERALL: If you're on a budget and don't want to go with the wireless option (there are pros/cons to both) then this keyboard/mouse combo is definitely for you. In my honest opinion, if your keyboard/mouse is for a desktop, be honest with yourself - do you really need the wireless option with the premium (not counting the batteries, etc.)? Sure it is aesthetically pleasing, but your keyboard/mouse isn't really going anywhere. Additionally, over the course of my research, apparently "drive-by" hackers can actually pick up your keystrokes of a wireless keyboard - Unbelievable! Soon, if not already, they'll be coming out with firewalls, and AES encryption for these things!

**This combo: It does what is necessary for an excellent price (though I would add something for a few dollars more to get the free shipping option - so count $25 for this combo), without the "panache". If you keep your expectations on the ground/modest, then I think you will be very happy and pleasantly satisfied with this combo. Recommended.

***Works flawlessly and instantly with Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit (no drivers/CDs/downloads required).

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Keyboard, No Mouse
Reviewed in the United States on February 26, 2009

Well, like another reviewer, I only received the keyboard and not the mouse. When I asked for a replacement, I again received only the keyboard. I guess this is my lesson to learn since I had read that review previously and had just hoped they had resolved the issue. I liked the keyboard though, so I might just buy the keyboard itself. Other than that, you guys should not buy this combo for a while since Amazon is "currently researching the situation but are unsure when the issue will be resolved. As it seems that the problem with this item is more widespread than we originally thought, we are not able to send another replacement."

4.0 out of 5 stars Second purchase, dead keyboard
Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2010

I've purchased this keyboard combo once before and loved it. Typing is extremely smooth on it, although at the time I opted to use another mouse rather than the one that came with it. The shortcut keys are extremely useful; lord knows I abused them often. I simply loved this keyboard.

When soda got spilled on it and the "c" key stopped working, I opted to purchase this product again, that's how happy I was with it. I also am using the mouse with a laptop. The mouse itself is nice, but I do find that with my small hands, it is a little too small for me. The scroll wheel isn't smooth, which is something I'm not entirely fond of, but it seems sturdy.

Sadly, however, after a month or so of use, the keyboard died on me. I tried on a variety of different systems (Win 7 desktop, Win 7 laptop, OS X Macbook Pro, heck, even my XO laptop!) but it would not work. Nothing spilled on it (this time), and it wasn't abused in any way. I just woke up one morning and it was non-responsive.

Would I recommend this keyboard anyway? Absolutely. It has a great feel, is great for typing, is angled perfectly, and is just plain comfortable to work with. I figure I just got a bad one of the bunch the second time around.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did *NOT* come with a mouse

I suppose this is more of a review of Amazon than of the product itself, but FYI - I ordered this, and it came with the keyboard (which seemed to work fine) but NO mouse. I asked for a replacement, and they sent another keyboard WITH NO MOUSE. So now I'm just getting a refund.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but all things considered I'd order another product, or better yet order a keyboard and mouse from some place other than Amazon.
