His ancestry hailed from San Giuseppe Vesuviano, in the province of Naples, Italy, where his parents were from.

The mob boss had five children: Victoria, Angel, John A, Peter, and Frank Gotti with wife Victoria DiGiorgio.

He worked as a presser in a coat factory and as an assistant truck driver in 1962 before forming part of the Gambino crime family.

Eventually, Gotti alongside his brothers Gene, Peter, Vincent, and Richard were initiated to the Gambino crime family.

Gotti’s work in the Gambino crime family led to multiple arrests and charges.

However, after a series of acquittals, he wound up serving a life term for racketeering and murder.

He died of cancer in 2002.

Victoria DiGiorgio

Victoria DiGiorgio, 78, is the widow of Gotti.

She is of Italian and Russian descent.

Her parents migrated to the US in the 1950’s and worked in factories to make ends meet.

They divorced when she was 2-years-old and later inherited a family fortune through her mother’s ancestral properties.

DiGiorgio and John’s son, Frank passed away when he was 12-years-old in a car accident.

Little is known about her career life as she lives a low-profile life.

Victoria was a columnist at the New York Post and a reporter for WNYW, the New York City flagship station of the Fox Television Network.

She wrote her first book, Women and Mitral Valve Prolapse, in 1995 and published five others through the years.

One of those books included a 2009 memoir titled This Family of Mine: What It Was Like Growing Up Gotti.

Victoria grew up in Howard Beach, New York.

She married her high school sweetheart, Carmine Agnello in 1984 but divorced in 2003.

The couple had three children: Carmine, Frank, and John.

He ran a scrap metal recycling operation prior to joining the Gambino family mob.

Agnello was charged with racketeering and arson in 2000 but accepted a plea bargain in return for a reduced sentence.

Victoria reportedly divorced him as he was serving his sentence under grounds of constructive abandonment.

In 2008, Agnello married Danielle Vangar, the daughter of activist Mourad Topalian.

The pair have a son who was born in 2009.

In 2015, Agnello was arrested in Cleveland, Ohio on charges of theft, money laundering, and conspiracy.

He was also charged with drugging his own race horses with performance-enhancing drugs.

Agnello accepted a plea deal two years later but only paid a fine and evaded prison time.

He served as the acting boss of the Gambino crime family from 1992 to 1999 after his father was imprisoned.

He was inducted into the Gambino family on Christmas Eve of 1988 and was named caporegime two years later.

John was jailed for racketeering in 1999.

He evaded conviction in 2010 after four trials for racketeering ended in mistrials.

John married Kimberly Albanese and the couple have six children, including his son John Gotti III who is a professional MMA fighter.

The family resides in Oyster Bay Cove on Long Island's North Shore of New York.

Gotti maintains that he has since left the Gambino family and wrote a book in 2015 titled Shadow of My Father.

He worked for the Gambino family during the 1960’s and by 1988 he was considered a“made man” in the mob.

Peter was promoted to capo a year later.

He worked for the New York City Department of Sanitation as a sanitation worker but was forced to retire after he suffered an injury involving a garbage truck.

According to federal prosecutors, Peter became the head of the Gambino just after John Jr. was sent to prison in 1999.

Peter was convicted on various occasions on multiple charges, including racketeering, extortion, and money laundering.

He was sentenced to nine years and four months in prison for the charges.

In 2004, Peter was yet again convicted of other racketeering charges from a separate trial and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Peter had been sick for some time, suffering from thyroid problems, and was blind in one eye, said Lewis Kasman, a former mobster and close confidant of Gotti.

He died of natural causes while incarcerated at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, North Carolina, on February 26, 2021.

Richard served as a capo for the Gambino family since 1999.

He worked as a groundskeeper at Yankee Stadium for some time prior to becoming an associate for the Gambino family in 1962.

Richard then worked as a general manager for the Our Friends Social Club but by 1988 became a “made man” in the mob.

In 2002, Richard was indicted on racketeering and extortion charges and convicted a year later on extortion and money laundering.

He was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison but was later released in August of 2005.

He has a son named Richard G. Gotti who reportedly belongs to the Gambino family as well.

Gene Gotti

Gene Gotti, 74, is the brother of Gotti and also a member of the Gambino family.

He became an associate of the mob in 1966 but three years later was convicted of theft from an interstate shipment.

Gene was sent to federal prison for three months.

In 1973, he was convicted in state court of illegal possession of a firearm and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Gene became a “made man” in the mob three years later working with his brothers.

He was acquitted in 1987 on federal charges of loansharking, illegal gambling, murder, and armed hijacking.

That same year he went to trial for charges from 1983 regarding narcotics trafficking, obstruction of justice, and racketeering.

Gene, alongside fellow mob member John Carneglia, were convicted of running a heroin distribution ring and were given 50 years in prison along with a fine.

Gene was demoted from the Gambino family from capo to soldier because he was in prison.

He was released in September of 2018 after serving 29 years in prison.

Gene was 71-years-old at the time.
